Uniform, Footwear and Essential Equipment

Uniform

School uniform and PE kit can be purchased from Jay Max (in store) and Whittakers Schoolwear (in store or online).

We believe that all students should attend College smartly dressed in a distinctive way and we expect all our students to correctly wear clothes and shoes specified in our Uniform Policy that can be found on this page.

The College approved dress code, as detailed in the College Uniform Policy, should be followed at all times when in College or when representing the College.   Adhering to a smart dress code symbolises good standards and, in preparing young people for the world of work, allows them to recognise the need for appropriate dress.

Girls’ Uniform

Skirt
Bottle green, plain fabric only. Length – just above/ below knee.

Tights
Plain black, opaque (not patterned) and a minimum of 40 denier.

Socks
Plain white, plain black or bottle plain green.

Trousers
Black, smart, plain, full length and tailored. Not tight fitting to the ankles/leg.

Pullover (Optional)
Black, wool type v-neck only (no sweatshirts).

Blouse
White formal shirt style.

Tie
College year group clip- on tie.

Shoes
Black leather type with flat heels. No boots, trainers or canvas shoes.

Blazer
This is a compulsory item and must be worn at all times. Bottle green with college badge.

Outer garment No leather or denim garments. Tracksuit jackets or hoodies are not suitable as outdoor coats. No baseball caps.

Boys’ Uniform

Trousers
Black, smart, plain, straight, full length and tailored. Not tight fitting to the ankles/leg.

Pullover (Optional)
Black wool type v-neck, plain only (no sweatshirts).

Shirt
White formal shirt style.

Tie
College year group clip- on tie.

Socks
Dark, plain only.

Shoes
Black leather type. No boots, trainers, or canvas shoes.

Blazer
This is a compulsory item and must be worn at all times. Black with college badge.

Outer garment
No leather or denim garments. Tracksuit jackets or hoodies are not suitable as outdoor coats. No baseball caps.

The main elements of appropriate footwear:

  • Low heeled (internal heel below 2 inches)
  • Plain black, formal style shoes that can be polished
  • Shoes with coloured soles or markings are not acceptable
  • Trainers, canvas, skate shoes, sling backs, boots and sandals are not acceptable for College
  • Black trainers are not school shoes, however plain they may appear
  • Even if shoes are marketed as “suitable for school” – please ensure that the shoe fits with our uniform policy and the guidance above

PE Kit

Girls PE kit

Plain red polo shirt (with/without school badge)

Plain black hoodie with/without school badge

Plain black shorts and/or plain black sports leggings with/without school badge.  No logo or designs.

Plain, long black socks 

Trainers, for indoor/outdoor use. All trainers should be compatible with 3G playing surface.

Boys PE kit

Plain red polo shirt (with/without school badge)

Plain black outdoor top (with/without school badge)

Plain black shorts

Plain, long black socks

Plain black hoodie with/without school badge (OPTIONAL)

Plain black tracksuit pants with/without school badge (OPTIONAL). No logos/designs.

Trainers, for indoor/outdoor use. All trainers should be compatible with 3G playing surface. No Converse style trainers.

Boots, soccer style, compatible with 3G playing surface.

Equipment

In order for students to learn and achieve their potential, they must be prepared each day. Please ensure that your daughter/son has all their equipment and homework prepared for each college day. This means that ALL students must bring the following equipment into college every day:

  • Bag – big enough to carry all equipment
  • Water bottle
  • Planner – this has to be shown to go into lunch at the set time
  • Exercise books/files/homework for each lesson that day
  • Calculator for Mathematics and Science
  • PE kit
  • Food Technology ingredients
  • Art equipment
  • Pencil case
  • Pen
  • Pencil
