Welcome to the Sixth Form Campus
These are exciting times for Cowley Sixth Form. September 2009 saw the move of the 11-16 school to the new buildings adjacent to the current Hard Lane site. This means that the new Cowley Sixth Form is self contained and away from the lower school.
Our new campus fuses the best traditions of the past with the best technology and equipment for the twenty first century. We offer an unrivalled selection of qualifications, from the International Baccalaureate, AS & A Levels, BTEC Nationals to the Diploma, enabling our students to tailor truly individual programmes of study and those students are achieving better results than ever before. We also offer one year BTEC courses for those with less than the five GCSEs at grade C or above which you need to start on advanced courses.
Classes are delivered in dedicated sixth form rooms; students are able to access their own study area, library and ICT facilities. The refurbished sixth form canteen is open from 9am to 2pm serving an array of meals, snacks and drinks.
There are lots of reasons why you should join us at Cowley -
• Excellent pass rates
• Comprehensive range of extra-curricular activities
• Success in sport, music and drama
• International students
• Expert, friendly and dedicated staff
At Cowley we see every student's education as a partnership. That partnership is based on a firm
agreement between the college,
the student and their parents. The agreement is intended to give students an understanding of what they can expect from the College and what
will be expected of them in return.
Further Opportunities within The Sixth Form
Cowley has a proud tradition of providing a wide variety of extra curricular activities. These currently involve:
• Musical, dance and theatrical activities and events
• Many representative team sports including Hockey,
• Rugby and Cricket
• Duke of Edinburgh award (up to gold standard)
• Art exhibitions
• Young Enterprise
We encourage all students to participate in an extensive range of initiatives, to assume positions of responsibility and gain relevant experience
in the workplace. The majority of Year 13 students progress onto degree or HND courses at Universities and Colleges throughout the country including
Oxbridge. Cowley has excellent links with all Further and Higher Education establishments.
