letter to parents/carers (change to school day)

15th September 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

The procedures we have put in place are working well to ensure students are safe and learning continues.  The students have been wonderful at coping with all the changes and have been considerate to their peers and staff.

As with all new systems, we look to refine and make improvements.  After a significant amount of review and evaluation, it has been decided, starting Monday 21st September, the college will be reducing the length of lunch time by 15 minutes to 45 minutes.  This adjustment in lunch time means the end of the day will change from 3:15 to 3pm.  To accommodate the split lunches there are small adjustments in the length of lessons, however, the overall learning time remains the same.

We have had confirmation that all buses will move their departure time to 3:15, apart from bus 760.  Those students who travel on the 760 will be supervised in the canteen until their departure time.

I very much hope that we can return to a 50-minute lunch time and finishing at 3:05 with the full range of extracurricular activities in the near future.

Thank you for continued support during this turbulent time and, as always, if there is anything we can do to support your child or family, please do get in touch with the year team.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Cormack

Headteacher
