Performing Arts students at Cowley Sixth Form take part in workshop with top drama school

On April 26, Performing Arts students at Cowley Sixth Form College took part in singing and acting workshops by the world-renowned Arts Educational Schools (more commonly known as ArtsEd).

The musical theatre workshop involved a warm-up, technique exercises, learning a short routine at speed and ended with a Q and A with the tutors.

ArtsEd is a prestigious London based performing arts school that lists Julie Andrews, Martin Clunes and Bonne Langford as previous students.

Mr Watkins, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Performing Arts at Cowley said:

“The students had an amazing time and the work produced was at the highest standards.  To be chosen by ArtsEd to take part in a workshop is testimony to the talent that we have here at Cowley Sixth Form.  The tutors from ArtsEd could not praise our students enough for their talent and professional attitude; another workshop is already in the pipeline.”

Cowley Sixth Form College offers two popular performing arts courses: Music and Musical Theatre. Each year, the department sees students go on to some of the UK’s top performing arts schools and counts David Moorst, who recently landed his first major film role in the historic film Peterloo, as a past student.
