Bishop of Liverpool visits Cowley

On Friday, 8th March, Bishop of Liverpool, Rt Reverend Paul Bayes, visited Cowley Sixth Form College.

Bishop Bayes — who was installed as the eighth Bishop of Liverpool in November 2014 – held an open forum with Cowley’s Year 10 and Sixth Form Religious Studies students, as well as students and staff from St Helens College.

Discussion topics centred on the role of the church in today’s society and the afternoon flew by as more and more students gained confidence to put their questions forward that led to engaging discussions.

Students asked questions on a range of challenging issues, including the problem posed by the existence of evil in the world, the challenges facing the modern church today and the role of women in the Christian Church today.

We thank Bishop Bayes for taking the time out of his busy calendar to visit Cowley.
