Performing Arts students from Cowley International College recently visited London and they had the privilege of touring The National Theatre (NT).
During the visit to the National Theatre, students were lucky to witness three different productions rehearsing, as well as being exposed to the many different departments working within. Students took part in workshops and were surprised to discover that there were over 1000 people working at the NT in a variety of different job roles, which I believe has broadened their knowledge and understanding of the industry as well as raising their aspirations.
The students also had the opportunity to watch a Preview of the Nationals’ production of ‘A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time’, which was performed at the Piccadilly Theatre.
The journey consisted of two mini bus rides, two trains and five tube connections as well as a lot of walking. The staff who supported were incredible and the day flew by.
The students behaved impeccably throughout the trip and managed to match the fast pace of the big city… which was hectic to say the least. I felt very proud and privileged to have shared this experience with the students and wanted to thank all of you for making it happen.
