Writing about the passing of a much loved person is difficult; this becomes particularly heart-breaking when that person is young.
Though incredibly hard not to fill this page with words of how emotional and saddened the whole Cowley family is at the passing of a bright and popular Year 8 student, I want to take this opportunity to celebrate the life of Abi Powell, who will forever be a Cowleian and remembered by all who knew her.
Although Abi was only with us for a short time, she had a huge impact on her teachers and fellow students and I am certain many of you reading this will have your own special memories of Abi and many are on Abi’s Prayer Tree that is in the Atrium area of the school.
Abi was an exceptionally bright and polite student who was popular with her peers. We think of Abi and remember a smiley, bubbly girl who was determined to enjoy life and do well at school. An animal lover who loved to spend time with animals, especially dogs.
Abi was courageous and will remain an example to all of us.
Abi will be hugely missed by all who knew her. We will keep her memory alive and ensure that she finishes school with her Form as she always wanted. At the Year 11 Leaving Assembly, Abi will be at the heart of it.
