Following an Ofsted visit early October, we are delighted to report that we have maintained the second highest grading of “Good”.
Inspectors spent two days observing lessons, exploring the facilities and meeting with staff, students and Governors. At the end of the visit, the team met with Cowley’s Governing body to report their findings and we received the official report earlier this week.
To highlight our sporting victories, teaching awards, academic achievements and profile all our fantastic successes in a matter of hours is impossible, but yet even in their limited time with us, Ofsted saw for themselves how dedicated, compassionate and incredibly enthusiastic the staff are and how happy, content and safe the students feel within the Cowley community.
St Helens Council’s cabinet member for children, families, young people and education, councillor Andy Bowden said:
“Cowley’s latest Ofsted report makes for excellent reading. The strong leadership under the guidance of Mr Sheeran and his vision and determination to best serve pupils is rightfully recognised – as is the quality of teaching in place and overall positivity from pupils about attending school. Put these key factors together and you have a good example of how a school should be.”
Parents are strongly supportive of the work of the school and value it highly.
Ofsted rated Cowley as a “Good” school and this has been achieved from being part of an exceptional team that includes staff, students and parents.
