Thinking about what’s next after leaving school?

Year 11 students who are coming to the end of their school journey will be starting to think about their future and what career pathway they would like to take. St Helens Borough Council are working with a range of partners delivering major regeneration in the town and now have three exciting work experience opportunities available over the summer holidays. Bowmer & Kirkland are working on two major developments in St Helens Borough – Glass Futures in St Helens Town Centre and Omega West in Bold. These developments are bringing significant investment and employment opportunities to the local area.

Bowmer & Kirkland are offering the opportunity for local young people to spend up to two weeks with them gaining some valuable work experience over the summer within the construction sector. This would mean getting the chance to find out about and shadow jobs such as Project Manager, Site Manager, Site Engineer, Document Controller, Social Value Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Design Manager and Planner.

There are lots of apprenticeship and employment opportunities coming up across St Helens as we embark on this exciting regeneration journey and the work experience on offer will give a great insight into the types of opportunities that working in the construction industry can lead to. It will also be a great addition to a CV or job application when looking for more permanent roles in the future.

We can look to support with transport to help get students to and from the work placements if that is needed.

If you know someone who is aged 16 or above who would benefit from this great experience, please send an expression of interest to Julia Hellyer at j.hellyer@bandk.co.uk by 5pm on 11th July 2022 to start the application process.
