In the summer, upper Sixth Form student, Leon Finnen, was selected to take part in the Nuffield Foundation programme, which places students in industry or academic projects run by universities.
The placement was for four weeks and involved plenty of practical work. At the end of the placement, Leon produced a 4000 report and summarised his findings in a large-scale poster (pictured).
Leon is hoping to continue his love of Science by studying Physics at St Andrews University when he finishes his A-Levels this summer.
The Nuffield Research Placement Programme provides over 1,000 students in the UK with the chance to work alongside professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians as they take their next steps towards their careers.
