8th May 1945 was Victory in Europe (VE) Day, and it marked the formal conclusion of World War II in Europe. With it came the end of six years of misery, suffering, courage and endurance across the World. Ordinary people took to the streets and danced and cheered because they were so happy and relieved that the war was finally over.
At Cowley, we are always keen to join in national events so that our students feel involved and learn what is happening in the wider community. As we won’t be able to celebrate within communities as we were planning, we are still hoping that our students will get involved and use the resources detailed below to make bunting, posters etc and maybe even some tea parties. We would love for our students to send us pictures that we can put on our website to show the celebrations. Email any photos to email@example.com
