Just left year 11 – start your career in Nursing!

Just left Year 11 and thinking about a career with one of the biggest employers in the UK, the NHS?  We have places on our Nursing Cadet programme for September 2018.

Nursing cadetship students study a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care (which is equivalent to three A-Levels) at Cowley Sixth Form.  An integral part of the course is attending placements in NHS and local care providers that offer the opportunity to develop students’ skills further and relate theory to practice.  Nursing Cadetship students at Cowley spend two days a week on placement in a hospital or other care environment, which at the end of the course will equate to over 400 hours of work experience!

The nursing cadet programme offers students a solid foundation in Nursing studies and provides individuals with fantastic opportunities for progression from cadet through the various roles up to registered nurse.

The course is lead by Mrs Robinson, a teacher at Cowley who was a Nurse.
