Positive Ofsted report for Cowley Sixth Form
Following a recent Ofsted inspection, Cowley Sixth Form is delighted to have again been recognised as a ‘good’ college.
A routine inspection was conducted for the first time since 2016 and inspectors produced a glowing report which sees the college retain its ‘good’ rating.
The report spoke highly of the sixth form college, noting the range of appropriate courses, stating that “Staff expertise helps students to acquire a thorough insight and knowledge of the subjects that they study. As a result, students progress well.”
Another aspect of the sixth form which caught the inspectors’ eyes was the impressive range of enrichment opportunities available to students, with the report declaring: “There is an extensive array of extra-curricular and enrichment activities on offer to pupils and students in the sixth form.
“For example, pupils benefit from a wide range of sporting and arts-based activities, and opportunities to take on leadership roles and charitable work.
“Leaders plan these activities so that pupils build the ‘Cowleian values’ as part of their character development.”
Deborah Faulkner, Director of Cowley Sixth Form College, said: “I am delighted that the sixth form has been recognised for its quality of education and extensive enrichment opportunities.
“The report highlights the support and guidance that sixth form students are given and this, in partnership with the opportunities available, leads to students feeling safe, happy and able to reach their full potential.”
