Year 13 Parents Evening | 4th February

Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to invite you to attend our Y13 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 4th February 3:30pm–7:00pm.

At this very important stage of their education, we are keen to discuss with you your daughter/sons’ current progress in all subjects studied. In addition, we would like to set out our expectations in terms of the current online learning programme and ‘live’ lessons and how you can support your daughter/son to achieve their full potential.

The college has introduced a new initiative and easy to use online appointment booking system. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers; full instructions on how to proceed are included on a separate sheet with this letter.

We would like you to book appointments with all teachers available to you, as many subjects will be taught by two different staff members.

In order to be able to take part in the parents’ evening, you will need access to the internet on a device with a camera and microphone.

You will need to do the following:

Appointments can be made from Tuesday 26th January 2021, from 12 noon and will close on Wednesday 3rd February at 3pm.

Each appointment will begin promptly at the time chosen and will last for exactly eight minutes, after which the call will be automatically disconnected. Please be aware that in certain cases, staff may need to turn off their camera function, meaning that the meeting will be conducted audio only.

Here at Cowley Sixth Form College, we pride ourselves on the academic achievement of all our students and the support on offer to help them to progress on to their next chapter after college. Central to this is a having a strong partnership between staff, parents and their daughter/son. Therefore, I do hope you take this opportunity to attend the evening and show support for this partnership.

Finally, please be aware that by taking part in this video parents’ evening event, you are agreeing to abide by the school’s ICT policy and relevant GDPR legislation. In accordance with GDPR, no recording of conversations is permitted.

Yours sincerely

Mrs D Faulkner
Director of Sixth Form
