Summer Reading Challenge

Summer Reading Challenge – Wild World Heroes

What is it?

Challenge yourself to read as many books as possible over the summer holidays. Mrs Pennington challenges you to read six books, but it’s entirely up to you.

You can read recommended texts from the Wild World Heroes booklist, which should be available at your local library…OR… read any fact, fiction, poetry book, graphic novel or joke book – the choice is yours! Ebooks and audiobooks count too, so you can read whatever and however you like!

How do I take part?

There are two ways to take part:

  1. Sign up for the challenge at your local library. The library service will help you to find books to read and will give you a map of the Wilderville. Every time you read and return a book, you will receive a sticker to add to your map…some of them even have smells!

If you manage to collect all of the stickers to complete the map, you will be given a Wild World Heroes certificate. Show either this certificate, or your map that includes 6 stickers, to Mrs Pennington in September and you will be provided with a small reward!

2. You don’t have to read the Wild World Heroes texts. Read whatever and however you like! You can keep track of any books you read by signing up to the challenge via the website, as well as unlocking digital rewards. Show a copy of this to Mrs Pennington in September, and you will be provided with a small reward!
