As you may be aware, the government has asked schools to continue to support contact tracing for the first 6 days after school closes for Christmas.
Where a student tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) having developed symptoms within 48 hours of last being in school, we are required to identify and advise self-isolation to their close contacts.
As school closes on 18th December at 1pm, we have put in place a system for you to inform us of a positive test result.
To clarify when the school should and should not be contacted –
Q. What if my child develops COVID symptoms on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December?
Arrange for a COVID test as soon as possible. If the result is positive, please contact the College by email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible with your child’s name and contact details. A member of staff will call you back.
Q. What if my child develops symptoms from Monday 21st December?
Arrange for a COVID test as soon as possible. If the test is positive, there is no need to contact the College, however, the household will have to follow instructions from NHS Test and Trace.
Parents and carers of students identified as close contacts will be contacted by email or telephone.
This has been a very difficult term and we would like to thank everybody for all their hard work and cooperation.
Wishing you and your family a restful and peaceful Christmas.
