August 2016 Students Celebrate Exam Success
Staff and students at Cowley Sixth Form are celebrating another great set of A-Level and BTEC results
This year’s A-Level pass rate was 98.3 per cent, whilst the vocational diploma pass rate has remained at 100 per cent, with 130 Distinction or Distinction Star (Distinction*) awarded, which is the equivalent of grade A or A* at A-Level.
Top performers include Luke Doherty who achieved 2 A*s and an A and is set to study Maths at The University of Manchester. Yasmin Litherland secured a 2 A*s, 1 A and a B and is set to read Geography and Journalism at The University of Liverpool and Charlie Dwyer secured his place at The University of Leeds to study Aviation Technology after securing 2 As and B.
Matt Hesketh – Director of Post 16 Learning said: “These are excellent results. I am so proud that our Sixth Formers have achieved the results that they deserve.
“These students have left a lasting impression on Cowley, particularly through the range of enrichment activities that they were involved with as musicians, volunteers and young leaders. They will be missed, but we look forward to hearing of their even greater successes in the future.
“Once again, it is a great privilege to see so many talented young people step out confidently into the next stage of their lives, well equipped with excellent exam results.”
