From St Helens Council
As you are aware, the recent Corona Virus pandemic has unfortunately caused some uncertainty and limitations and has impacted on what we are able to safely offer over the summer holiday break which has led to a delay in planning of the Play scheme. Please accept our apologies for this.
The local authority has, at this time, decided to appoint 2 providers for the SEND summer play scheme, they are:
• Motive8 sports
• St Helens Youth Service
We are still in negotiation with a third provider and if this can be agreed, based on safe planning around Covid, then we will notify you as soon as we are able.
Due to the current situation and social distancing measures, we are restricted on group numbers for the provision which we appreciate is not ideal, but we hope you understand the difficult circumstances that we are working under and the changing impact on our planning and provision. If demand increases for places then we may have to restrict availability.
Both providers will offer a variety of different activities over the summer period and will try to accommodate everyone’s wishes. Please be advised, though, that we need to be mindful of the local and national situation with regards to Covid and so there may be unforeseen changes beyond our control.
For Children who meet the Social Care Short Breaks Eligibility Criteria as in previous years, if your Child attends Lansbury School and Mill Green School or receives more than 25 hours in funded support in a mainstream School, then they will be entitled to 33 subsidised hours from the Local Authority. Which means that the hourly rate for you to pay will be £4. After the 33 hours it will then go to £14 per hour.
The offer is 3 days per week for 6 weeks of the summer holidays for full days, pick up at 8.45am – drop off at 4pm. They have a maximum capacity of 6 children per session, they can offer transport from a single pick-up point which is yet to be agreed and lunch at additional costs.
The sessions are available for all age groups, however, please discuss your individual child’s needs with the provider.
The dates are outlined below:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
There are 6 places per session and therefore you will need to book your child onto these sessions. For more information and to book, please contact Liz McLoughlin on 07966808258 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
