At the beginning of February, a selection of Cowley students from Years 9, 10 and 11 took part in this year’s Intermediate Maths Challenge, ran by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT).
The challenge was, as ever, a difficult one but the Cowleians who took part produced some excellent results.
94 students in total participated in the challenge, with 24 of them picking up medals (topping 2021’s total of 21) with two gold medalists, four picking up silver and 18 getting bronze.
Best in School (with the highest mark out of all our students) and achieving a gold medal was Year 11 student Charlie who achieved a high enough score to get through to the follow on Pink Kangaroo round. Joining Charlie with a gold medal and a place in the Pink Kangaroo round is Year 10 student Jacob. It’s an outstanding effort by both students, well done!
Our four silver medalists were Liam, Charlotte, Sophie and Louis, with the latter making it through to the follow up Grey Kangaroo round with the best score in Year 9!
Congratulations go to all the students who took part and represented Cowley magnificently. Well done!
