important letter re: easter break and more

Dear Parent/Carer,

We have now completed our first two weeks of a very different chapter in the life at Cowley.  Thank you for the support you have shown by enabling your child to work from home and ensuring they follow the Government guidance of social distancing.  The college has remained open for a small group of students, allowing some of our key worker parents to continue with their important role.

Easter holiday

We are unsure how long this crisis will continue and it is important as best we can follow the school calendar and all students and staff have a rest.  Due to the very important instruction to stay at home, the Easter holiday will be different to what has become our ‘new normal’ and Cowley staff will not be setting work for the next two weeks.  However, for some Y11 and Y13 students, staff have given them specific work to complete.  Departments are currently setting work for the first two weeks after Easter and this will be shared on the website.

For the 2 weeks Monday 6th April to Friday 17th April all Cowley buildings will be closed as we be joining the Local Authority hub strategy. Children of key workers will attend De La Salle High School.

Over the Easter break if you need to contact the college to communicate a serious issue please get in touch by emailing or insert the following link into your browser  Please allow at least 24 hours for a response.

I can confirm that our online resources have been well used and paper resources have been sent to families who do not have access to the internet.  The departmental emails are being used by parents and students for guidance about work.  Please maintain strong routines at home ensuring learning continues and your child has the opportunity to do some exercise.

Keep sending photos to our email account so we can upload them to our social media accounts, as this helps other parents and students feel less isolated.

The college now has access to an online counselling and support service ‘Kooth’.  Please
